Product History of the RISO Inkjet Printer

In 2003, RISO debuted its first high-speed inkjet printer that employed industrial inkjet technologies for business use in the Japanese market. We expanded overseas in 2005, and since then have been continually advancing our capabilities. All RISO high-speed business printers are designed to support offices with fast, high-volume printing as well as outstanding performance and reliability.

RISO HC5500

RISO commenced marketing high-speed inkjet printers around the world. The RISO HC5500 was an unprecedented business inkjet printer made to defy the conventional wisdom of high cost and low speed color printing - ultimately aiming to better familiarize businesses with color printing.

ComColor

RISO introduced the ComColor series, the first generation, which provided higher productivity and image quality. Achieved a compact footprint with the multi functional finisher which enabled stapling, hole-punching and folding documents, as well as saddle stitch book binding.

ComColor X1

Launched the new ComColor X1 series. It realized revolutionary automated post-press solutions, including in-lined mailing and bookbinding functionality as well as high capacity feeding and stacking.

ComColor FW

Launched the FW series. The FW series was a new lineup achieving high productivity and high functionality with a compact design to fit any workplace. The FW series was awarded Blue Angel eco-labels organized by the federal Environment Agency of Germany in 2016 due to the significant peformance of the series to reduce the total amount of volatile organic compounds emissions.

Launched the GD series with improved productivity and expandability, overtaking X1 series functionality. The series’ speed leads the world at 160 ppm for A4/letter simplex for a business inkjet printer. Enhanced image quality with five-color ink (black, cyan, magenta, yellow, gray), guaranteed reliability at high-speed.

The FT series was launched improving its performance as the successor of the FW series. The print speed up to 140 ppm increased productivity and more advanced functionalities for offices and schools.
